January 3, 2013 ~ Repetition

Three days in and I'm already finding this challenging. Once I turn my camera on and go exploring for inspiration, I'm all into it. However, winter break has made me lazy lazier. And, it's quickly coming to an end. I'm scared. The idea of going back to school and back to piles of homework and annoying classmates makes me want to cry. Ugh. I'm counting down the days until I graduate.

January 2, 2013 ~ New Beginnings

I spent some time today talking to my friend, Tristan, who is a total photography expert. All his camera talk and awesome tips got me playing around with my camera. On the way home from my vocal lessons, I decided to use a slow shutter speed setting and photograph the freeway. The end results were these crazy distorted light pictures. You can't even tell it's a simple freeway with cars speeding by to their destinations. The topic for today is new beginnings. To be totally honest, this picture has nothing to do with new beginnings. I feel like it's too similar to the first day's topic so I felt like I'd already been there, done that.

January 1, 2013 ~ Resolve

January 1st is the perfect day to start a 365 day photo challenge. I spent a good portion of the day thinking over what I'd done this past year and what I wanted to change. Unfortunately, I wasn't terribly pleased with what I reflected on from my 2012. To be honest, I spent most of the last year doing absolutely nothing. I barely (read: didn't at all) picked up my camera, took no steps towards pursuing a career in music, and wasted my time on people who don't even matter. This made me feel pretty dismal, so I'm changing that. After finding a photo-a-day challenge, I've dedicated myself to achieving it. No excuses. I have a try out for a band in a couple weeks. It's useless for me to say that I want to be in a touring band when I make no effort towards actually achieving it. Therefore, this year is going to be different.
